The post-game comments were all about how well Milan played against Lille without breaking the deadlock.
CARLO ANCELOTTI
Milan played, I saw the right spirit. We had chance to win but we were a bit unfortunate and then in the second half we continued in the same way. I am satisfied because it is a difficult place to come but it went well. Lille are strong. It’s possible the players got tired but over all, we gave away little so it was a good game and good result.
The formation was with a striker. I chose this tactic to keep control of the ball and use Kakà as both an attacking midfielder and forward, depending on how he felt in that situation. This group is still open, there are still four games to play and we have done well in the toughest away game. We have to look to beat Anderlecht and then close the group at home. We haven't scored in two games but we have had a lot of chances, apart from Seedorf's goal. Yes, we have to improve our movement in attack but it's good to come away without conceding a goal.
MASSIMO AMBROSINI
We are on the up, we played well from the start. We tried to win the game, it wasn't an excellent game but a good one. We created a lot of chances but we can't be too worried, we've just been off-target in the last two games so we can't worry too much about these incidents.
KAKA'
Unfortunately, we were not solid. We had plenty of chances but we didn't take them. It's a pity Clarence had not scored in the second half. Fortunately, we are top of the group. The press say I am selfish but you have to shoot on the goal. We have to improve our shots on target, we'll concentrate on this in training. Anyway, we played well and tried to win to the end.
ALBERTO GILARDINO
Once again I have had chances and came away with little, it's a pity. However, we played well. Lille are strong technically and good on the break. I found the lone striker role with two in support fine. I am looking for my first goal of the season and hopefully I will get it on Sunday against Siena. We created a lot but the ball didn't go in, however, we didn't concede one which is important.
ANDREA PIRLO
We are still top of the group, we could have won, we missed a few chances but it went well anyway. I find this formation fine, it can be a solution. We are pleased with what we are doing, it doesn't matter what anyone else says.
