The city of Milan welcomed the Rossoneri home with a heroes return
Milan returned to Italy just past 3pm local time carrying an additional passagenger with that giant shining Champions League Cup. Carlo Ancelotti and Paolo Maldini were the first off the plane with their hands around the trophy, followed by Adriano Galliani and Billy Costacurta and then the rest of the staff and team. Two of the hostess from the flight wore Rossoneri ribbons on their shoes.
There were a lot of fans present at the airport (according to public order officials the number was around 2,000) to give our boys a heroes return. The celebrations then continued throughout the city of Milan, where the Rossoneri paraded the Champions League trophy around on Thursday evening starting at 19.00 local time and then were presented on the balcony of Palazzina di Via Marconi 2 in the centre of the city.
The Rossoneri’s tour of the city travelled the following celebration route: Via del Burchiello, Via G. D'Arezzo, Via A. da Giussano, Piazza Conciliazione, Via Boccaccio, Piazzale Cadorna, Foro Buonaparte, Largo Cairoli, Via Cusani, Via dell'Orso, Via Verdi, Via Manzoni, Piazza Cavour, Via Turati, Piazza della Repubblica, Bastioni di Porta Venezia, Piazzale Oberdan, Corso Venezia, Piazza San Babila, Largo Toscanini, Corso Europa, Largo Bersaglieri, Via Larga, Via Albricci, Piazza Missori, Via Mazzini, Piazza Duomo.
