Pippo Inzaghi’s number nine jersey from the magical night in Athens has been up for auction to benefit the Milan Foundation’s Holy Family Hospital of Nazareth project
MILAN – A.C. Milan and Radio Italia have been working together once again to help raise funds for the Milan Foundation. After the great success of the jersey auctions with Ronaldo and Paolo Maldini, it was time for another great champion to contribute his shirt to charity. Up until June 6, fans could bid on the jersey that Pippo Inzaghi wore on that magical night of when Milan took the Champions League title against Liverpool with the auction on www.acmilan.com. The auction closed at a new record of 17,335 euro.
The special jersey, which was prepared for the striker specifically for Champions League final, has been autographed by Inzaghi and was also embroidered with a special Athens commemorative symbol (see pictures below).
All the proceeds from the auction will go to the Milan Foundation for the construction of the Neonatal and Intensive Therapy unit at the Holy Family Hospital in Nazareth.
