He arrived at Milan twenty years ago and two decades later Carlo Ancelotti has signed another contract with Milan to keep him as coach until June 30, 2010

MILAN - Carlo Ancelotti started his career with Milan in 1987 and twenty years later he is still as fresh and enthusiastic as ever. As a player we won the league in '87, the Champions Cup in '89 and the Intercontinental in the same year. As a Rossoneri coach, Ancelotti has won the Champions League, in 2003 and 2007 and has been rewarded with a new contract until 2010 which will take him to nine years in charge. He is following in the footsteps of some of the greatest coach's in the game such as  Paron Nereo and Giovanni Trapattoni and of course, Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson who was given a fine bottle of wine by Carlo after the Champions League semi-final, and no doubt will have cracked a smile at the news that his good Italian friend had signed a new deal.

Ancelotti's coaching record at Milan stands at 419 points in Serie A from 322 games, winning six trophies, two of which of course being the Champions League, one final more than Arrigo Sacchi and one Cup more than Fabio Capello. All Rossoneri followers will be celebrating the news which came through at 20.15 local time from Via Turati where Ancelotti met with Adriano Galliani to put pen to paper on a contract until June 30, 2010. One of Silvio Berlusconi's lads remains at home and it should be a very enjoyable dinner for the Milanello staff this evening knowing that Carlo will be at the helm for the tilt at the league, Super League, Champions League and World Cup for Clubs next season.
