At Madrid I had arrived at a point where I even thought about quitting. I couldn’t take it anymore. Having the possibility of coming to Milan was the best thing that could happen to me: all of Emerson’s phrases.
MILANELLO – At the press conference of the official presentation of Emerson, the first words were of Ariedo Braida: “He arrived here seven years late. Already in 2000 we were very close, but he had already a commitment with another club. Carlo Ancelotti had asked us for a midfielder and he was the first one in the list”
The first words of Emerson: “Last year for me it was very difficult. In the last four months I tried to do everything to prove what I was capable of doing and in the end we succeeded with Real to win La Liga. Now I’ll think just about Milan. In Italy it will be easier for me, here there’s a different mentality, another environment.
“I hope to help my team-mates, and I’m available for the Coach. I played in some teams amongst the most important ones in the world, but after two-three days here I saw impressive things, I must really compliment Milan. Here I reall feel well, I already feel more free from my mind than I was at Madrid. At Madrid I had arrived to the point where six-seven months ago I wanted to quit, I didn’t want to play anymore. I couldn’t take it anymore.”
