ZURICH - Today, during an impressive ceremony, the General Secretary of Fifa, Jerome Walcke awarded to the vicar vice-president of Milan Adriano Galliani the badge of honour for the win of the Rossoneri's squad to the Club World Cup 2007 in Japan. This new badge, awarded for the first time ever today to a Fifa club, will be awarded from now onwards to the team who will triumph each year in the Fifa Club World Cup.
With the badge of the world champion team at club level, officially writes today the Fifa official website, fifa.com, the international Federation of football wants to award every year the winners of the world title and will be reserved, after Milan, also to the following winners of this great event. "Milan is extremely proud of being the first club in the world," declared today Adriano Galliani in Zurich, "To be able to wear on its shirt the world badge of Fifa. Milan's history is tied to the great international events, just like Fifa Club World Cup. Our triumph in Japan is considered a milestone of our activity, both from our club and from our fans."
Ricardo Kaka was instead elected as best player of the most recent edition of the Fifa Club World Cup. Kaka declared: "This badge is a great idea. This symbole will remind us all that we are the world champions at club level and that until next December, no one can take this title away from us. It would be fantastic to win the Champions League again, to be able to defend this historic title again in Japan in December."
Milan, concluded the website of Fifa, can show off on their shirts this badge of honour until the final whistle of the next World Cup final of Yokohama of the Fifa Club World Cup.
