MILAN – On this day 59 years ago, the 1st of May 1956, Milan defeated Real Madrid for the first time in the European Cup, winning 2-1 in the return leg of the semi-finals at the San Siro. However, having lost 4-2 in the first leg in Madrid, the rossoneri didn’t qualify for the final.
