MILAN - We caught up with Cesare Maldini, who was a great friend and worked as Enzo Bearzot's assistant for many years: "A great maestro has passes away, not only a maestro in football but especially in life. We worked together in the national team from 1980 to 1986 and we lived shoulder to shoulder at the World Cup on Spain. Enzo Bearzot was a well-respected figure both for his results and the way he behaved."

Enzo Bearzot passed away this morning in Milan. The 83-year-old led Italy to success in the 1982 World Cup in Spain where the Azzurri defeated West Germany in the final.
