MILAN – "Finally waking up is good.. Second day of training. I am coming back!"
That’s how Mario Balotelli has greeted his followers on Instagram today. The Italian recently had an operation for a groin injury and is on the comeback trail.
MILAN - Stephan El Shaarawy has given an interview in today’s edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport in which he also spoke about his days with Milan:
The little pharaoh has good memories: "A permanent move to Monaco is now a formality, although I’m sorry that the link is cut. They were beautiful years, despite the injuries and everything else. I won’t forget what I achieved there in 2012, but it was time to change. I’ll start again from here. Regrets? No, I was hampered for a long time with injuries. I couldn’t help it and I was aware of my strength. In a way, the injuries helped me to develop."
A change of scene has been good for the Italian: "Let’s say that the Milanese environment was no longer for me. I am not talking about Milan, but everything revolving around football in the city of Milan. I was left upset by some of the stuff that I read because I know how hard I worked to recover from injuries. It’s not nice to hear nasty things, certain rumours can unsettle a person even if he tries to resist. Social media now has more negatives than positives: there is too much envy and malice towards famous people, the atmosphere became a little negative. I love Milan and I will not forget what it meant to me."
MILAN - Serie A have paid tribute on twitter to Antonio Puerta. The ex-Sevilla player would have turned 31 today.
He passed away on the 28th of August 2007 just three days before Milan-Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup final in Monte Carlo. In honour of Puerta, Milan wore a shirt dedicated to him and the club were also present at his funeral.
MILAN – Milan Allievi Nazionali coach Riccardo Monguzzi has given his thoughts ahead of the top of the table clash versus Inter this Sunday:
"It’s a match in which we’re looking to maintain our recent run of results. In the past 6 matches, we have picked up 5 wins and there have been improvements from the team. We lost to Brescia in 9-men, but Sunday we will be going for the win even if we know Inter are a strong side. We cannot think too much about individual players, even if we will be missing a lot of players, but rather we need to work as a team, focus on our playing style and our identity."
