“The team is in high spirits and mentally ready. We’re aware of being Milan and as such we know we can’t go to Palermo and have a bad game. Hopefully, tomorrow evening we’ll finally break the Barbera’s spell on us and advance to the final”.

MILAN - Here is what Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri had to say in his press conference earlier this afternoon:
ON THE ITALIAN CUP:
“We know that the Italian Cup is the last trophy that’s left to win this season. It’s going to be a difficult match, because for Palermo it’s the game of the season, as they said, but in any case we’ll do our best. The result of the first leg penalizes us a bit, but we have what it takes to play a great game tomorrow. The team is in high spirits and mentally ready. We’re aware of being Milan and as such we know we can’t go to Palermo and have a bad game. Hopefully, tomorrow evening we’ll finally break the Barbera’s spell on us and advance to the final. We know the crowd will push them hard and that for them it’s a huge game. We’ll need to run more risks than Palermo, but qualification hangs in the balance and it won’t be easy for them to manage the game”.
ON THE LINE-UP:
“We hope Ibra will recover in time for the match or at least to have him on the bench. I’ll still need to evaluate the conditions of Boateng, Nesta and Zambrotta and I’ll make my decisions accordingly. Whoever gets the nod will do well”.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SCUDETTO:
“Besides some colleagues in Serie A, I received congratulations from Prandelli and Lippi which made me very happy. Some Cagliari players texted me, too”.
ON THE TRANSFER MARKET:
“As for the defence, Milan are well covered. We have Mexes and Taiwo signed up. Kakà or Ganso? The first has won everything, the second still has to prove himself.”
ON ANDREA PIRLO:
“When championship will be over, we’ll need to sit down and talk with the club management. Andrea has had an unlucky season, things haven’t gone well for him after the game against Roma. It’s not easy to get back to full fitness, but this doesn’t mean that he’s not a top player who still has a lot to give. Every player at Milan must accept my decisions, let them be right or wrong. When the next season starts, I want everyone to be motivated. One should never be satisfied with what he’s achieved”.
ON THE SQUAD:
“We went through some periods in which a lot of players were missing through injury. Credit goes to the players, who have always been ready when called upon”.
