MILAN IS MY HOME
In an exclusive inetrview with Forza Milan, Alessandro Nesta reveals everything about his life, from his family, to his hobbies and of course his love for Milan.
MILAN - Roman born but a Milanese at heart. Alessandro Nesta has been wearing the rossoneri shirt since the 2002/03 season. He arrived on the last day of the transfer market after an unlucky World Cup in Japan and S.Korea where he was plagued by injury (one of his many - like the one he had in Germany when Italy were crowned World Champions).
He has been a Milan player for almost 10 years and in an interview given to Forza Milan he claims that he has no intention of quitting any time soon. "I would like to end my career with dignity, hopefully at Milan," he said. "The standard of play here is so high and you play every three days. Maybe in the future I will try to play less, maybe once a week." After taking a while to settle down he now feels completely at home in Milan. "It was my goal to stay in Milan ten years. My family are settled here and we all like it."
In the interview, Nesta also spoke about his hobbies (playing playstation with Ignazio Abate) and his private life: "I cannot wait to give my kids their Xmas presents. Football is my life, even at home I eat and sleep football." Although he is not thinking about retirement just yet he did reflect on te career he has had: "I am really happy with the career I have had. Aside from the injuries I have had, football has given me everything and I have achieved a lot of things." And hopefully he will continue to do so!
