Milan put in an improved performance against English side in New Jersey
NEW JERSEY - Milan put in a good performance despite losing 2-0 to Chelsea in the semi-final of the Guinness International Champions Cup at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.
The only goal of the first half came on 29 minutes from De Bruyne. Milan went close to scoring when Muntari played the ball across the face of the goal only for Cech to push it away but Ivanovic cleared at the back post just ahead of the arriving Balotelli.
Shurrie scored the second goal late on but in between there were positive signs that the team is finding its fitness and with that its form. Kevin Prince Boateng came close to equalising 20 minutes from the end and Nocerino was unfortunate with a header following good work from Niang along the flank.
Massimiliano Allegri will be pleased with the way his side chased the game especially in the final 10 minutes when they laid seige to the Chelsea goal.
Milan will now play LA Galaxy on August 7 in Miami.
