First Team

A point earned in what was a tough evening in Turin. Allegri: “We have to find the right balance.”

MILAN – Here’s what players and staff had to say after this evening’s draw in Turin:

"The performance is no surprise as the team needs to be tweaked, we have to find the balance that we lost as we’ve changed the way we play. From the point of view of the commitment of the payers, it was a good match. Kakà needs to get match fitness and to get to know his team mates better. Matri gave us more depth. Torino won’t be happy with how the game finished but we did what we had to do. It was along the lines of the match we played with them back in the spring. We didn’t concede then but tonight we went two down and came back.”

"We imagined it would be a tough game as they use their keeper a lot and they create problems. Matri’s entrance gave us more depth and we got things back on track. It’s obvious that we need to improve our play but it’s been a tough week for us. We lost two full backs and some of the players were away with the national sides. Zapata only got back on Thursday. We’ve changed formation and so we’ve lost a few of our workings. We’ll be looking for them and working hard at it.”

"I had a lot of desire and it’s shame that it wasn’t one of best performances. We did well to believe in ourselves though and with a bit of luck we worked our way back into the game. We fell to their counter attacks today and we have to work on that ahead of the next game. We got  a point and e have to take that. We have to always look for the win and get back to winning for the next match that we play.”

“Torino deserve a lot of credit and we don’t. We conceded a lot on the counter attack and we played bad technically. The performance didn’t shock me, the team needs to be changed. Unfortunately we’re missing four internationals. We have a very big month ahead of us but we can do it. We knew that it would be tough to change the way we play. Kakà, Balotelli and Robinho have never played together before. The players did well. They tried to come back into the match and they did well to keep believing until the end. We avoided the loss which would have been bad. Now we have to get back on track from the point that we got tonight and find the right balance that we’re missing at the moment. We did well and we were lucky. Torino were a bit unlucky but that’s football. Montolivo, De Scilgio, Abate and El Shaarawy will not play on Wednesday. We’ll make do with who we have and we’ll have fresh players ready to play what is a delicate and important game.”
