Milan have met Parma at the San Siro on fifteen occasions, with the Rossoneri recording eight wins, five draws and two defeats. The history of these matches opened with Arrigo Sacchi’s farewell and an embrace with Marco Van Basten in the first game against the Gialloblu who were fresh from promotion in 1990 while an Asprilla goal ended Milan’s 58-game unbeaten run in March 1993. Baggio, Donadoni and Savicevic scored in the 3-0 win in 1995-96 while the 2-1 triumph in 1999 set Alberto Zaccheroni’s side towards a 16th title. More recently, in 2002, Filippo Inzaghi returned from a long injury to score a brace to help secure a Champions League place. Last season, Marcos Cafu scored his third goal for the goal as Ricky Kakà and Jon Dahl Tomasson also found the target in a 3-0 win.
