Marta Mascarello was born in Bra on 15 October 1998 and started playing in the Albese youth setup. She joined Serie A2 club Alba at 14 and stayed with the Piemontese side until 2015, when she moved to Cuneo. She helped Cuneo to Serie A promotion and then made her Serie A debut with the club in the following season. She signed for Tavagnacco in 2017 and stood out. Fiorentina noticed her performances and brought her to Florence. She found game-time hard to come by in her first two seasons (16 appearances and one goal in 2021/22) but she did make her debut in the Champions League and won her first call-up to the Italy national team, making her debut on 4 March 2020 in the Algarve Cup against Portugal.
