MILAN-CORTINA BID AWARDED THE 2026 WINTER OLYMPICS

Our Executive Chairman, Paolo Scaroni: "This achievement should make the whole of Italy proud"

The Milan-Cortina bid has been awarded the 2026 Winter Olympics by the International Olympic Committee, in Lausanne. AC Milan's Executive Chairman Paolo Scaroni attended the 134th IOC Session in Switzerland and commented on this historic achievement for Italy:

"After the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics, finally, we are again leading players in the world of sports. It is a victory for the cities of Milan and Cortina and an achievement that should make the whole of Italy proud. I believe that the Games are a great opportunity for the Country to develop and spread the ethical and cultural values of sports, which must be a guiding light for future generations. The Olympic spirit fits perfectly with AC Milan’s ideals and we are proud to have been in the front line to support this bid right from the beginning. This is why, on behalf of the Club, I wish to extend our congratulations for this great achievement."
