ZAPATA: "EVERY GAME IS LIKE A FINAL"

The Colombian centre-back was interviewed by Milan TV touching on several topics, from the derby to the next meeting against Empoli

With the incredible goal at the last gasp, Cristian Zapata gave the Rossoneri an unhoped-for draw in the Milanese derby. The last-minute hero, in an interview with Milan TV, reflects on the clash against the Nerazzurri and speaks about his form, the team and the next important meeting against Empoli, Sunday at San Siro.

THE DERBY

"On the eve of the derby, I really believed it could have been a special day for me. These are the matches that motivate me the most, I was ready for it. The goal in the 97'? Every player dreams of scoring a decisive goal at the last gasp, I'm really happy. I was really jumping up and down with joy. This goal will go down in the history of AC Milan. After the match, I gave my shirt to President Li Yonghong, it was a gift and I'm really pleased with this".

HAPPIER FOR HIS GOAL OR ROMAGNOLI'S?
"For my goal (he laughs, ed.). I hadn't scored in a while, and scoring that goal, at that moment of the game, in a derby was really fantastic".

THE GROUP
"The group is really special, very humble and we're all there for each other also during the game when things aren't going that well, we always give 100 percent and I think we're on the right track to reach our objective, making it back into Europe".

ON HIS MOMENT
"After the injury which kept me out for almost 7 months, it wasn't easy because the team was playing well and I just had to wait for my opportunity to come, with patience and working hard and now that I have had my chance and I'm playing well, I'm feeling great. I'm really happy but I'm aware I have to keep working hard because there's always room for improvement".

THE NEXT MEETING
"The match against Empoli is not going to be easy. These games can be very tricky, but we're working well and we know that at San Siro we have to take home the three points to continue our race for Europe. We're almost at the end of the season, we have to keep in mind that every game is like a final, they are all decisive. We have to work hard to win on Sunday".
