ROMAGNOLI: "WE HAVE TO BELIEVE"

Piatek also spoke to Milan TV: "Win and let's hope. I'm happy to have scored again"

It was a night of sport, football and fair play. This is what the Premio Gentleman is all about. The Scuola Militare Teuliè in Milan hosted the 2019 edition, the 24th in history and various awards were presented from the season that is set to come to a close. Lots of Rossoneri figures were in attendance on the night, including the likes of: Romagnoli, Piatek, Calabria (AC Milan Revelation 2018/19) Raffaella Manieri and Marco Brescianini.

The captain Alessio Romagnoli took the main prize, the ‘Premio Gentleman AC Milan 2018/19’ for playing in a way which displayed sportsmanship, honesty, passion, style and respect for the opponent. He then spoke exclusively to Milan TV. Topics under discussion included the SPAL match, the Champions League race and Abate.

THE AWARD
"I'm very proud to receive this award for the second consecutive year, it's a very coveted and well-known accolade."

SPAL AND THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
"We're preparing like every week, working hard in training. We'll give our all to win, then at the end of the match, we'll see the other results. It will be difficult but we must believe until the end. We've always stuck together, especially in times of difficulty. We're a good group, we're young but united and close-knit."

ABATE'S FAREWELL
"Ignazio was more than a teammate, he was a friend and he's truly a great guy. His absence in the dressing room will be felt, he gave us a lot and had a big hand in helping us young players to develop. Zapata will also leave us after many years, like other teammates. We thank them as San Siro did and we wish them all the best. Let's hope that we can celebrate on Sunday with them."

At the Scuola Militare Teulié in Milan, Krzysztof Piatek also spoke to the Club's TV channel after winning the special prize for the best AC Milan goal in 2018/19 which went to his splendid left-footed volley away at Atalanta.

THE AWARD AND GOAL
"I'm happy to win this award, it's important for me because I like scoring, especially good goals. The one in Bergamo was certainly my best goal, I hope to score more and even better goals. The Polish league isn't of the same standard as Serie A, which is far more competitive. I would never have imagined that I'd score so many during my first year in Italy, I hope I can keep scoring many more."

SPAL AND THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
"We hope to beat SPAL and that Atalanta or Inter drop points so we can make the Champions League. We'll give everything to do it. We believe. I'm positive, I'm happy to have scored again after five games but I'm far happier with the team's win."
