DATES FOR THE 2019/2020 SEASON ANNOUNCED

Next season's dates, breaks and midweek fixtures have been confirmed by Lega Serie A

The official dates for the 2019 football season have been confirmed, both for Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

SERIE A
The league season will kick off on 25 August 2019. There will be a total of five breaks over the course of the Serie A season. The first three will be due to international fixtures: no league matches will be played on 8 September 2019, 13 October 2019 and 17 November 2019. The season will then temporarily come to a halt on 22 December 2019 for the Christmas break. Fixtures will resume on 5 January 2020. The final break of the campaign is scheduled for 29 March 2020, once again because of international fixtures. The Serie A season will finish on 24 May 2020

COPPA ITALIA
Italy's national cup competition will start on 4 August 2019. Then it'll be time for the second round, which will take place on 11 August 2019. The third round will be held shortly afterwards, on 18 August 2019. There will then be no Coppa Italia fixtures until 4 December 2019, the date of the fourth round. Starting from the round of 16, AC Milan will be involved in the competition: the last 16 matches will take place either on 15 January 2020 or 22 January 2020. The quarter-finals are scheduled for 29 January 2020. After that, it'll be time for the two-legged semi-finals: the first leg will take place on 12 February 2020, while the second leg is set to be played on 4 March 2020. The two teams who reach the final will face each other on 13 May 2020 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
