MILAN PRIMAVERA PICK UP EXCELLENT POINT AGAINST TORINO

It finishes 1-1 in Turin despite Negri being sent off in the second half

A good point and a hard-earned and deserved one at that. At the Stadio Filadelfia in Turin, Milan Primavera managed to come away with a precious 1-1 draw from a difficult away trip on matchday 20 in the league. It was a real battle out on the pitch: the Rossoneri fought for every ball away to one of the title favourites, showing heart and desire in the process. Given that AC Milan took the lead after 33 minutes through Brambilla, perhaps the result could have been even better. However, after Negri was given his marching orders and Belkheir equalised midway through the second half, it could have been worse. After being pegged back, the team dug in, displaying even higher concentration levels, a spirit of sacrifice and determination. It was an intelligent performance and the players can hold their heads high. This 1-1 draw doesn't change the Rossoneri's league position – one above the foot of the table – but it does mean that the team are now just one point behind Sampdoria, Sassuolo and Palermo in the race to avoid relegation.

MATCH REPORT
Milan Primavera made an excellent start. In the 13th minute, Sala hit the post: following a corner, Alessandro powerfully struck the ball with his right foot, only to see it come off the woodwork with Gemello beaten in the Torino goal. Three minutes later, Maldini also had an effort from the edge of the area, but the home side's goalkeeper produced a diving save to keep it out. The Granata responded through Millico after 19 minutes, but his free kick went narrowly wide. In the 33rd minute, the Rossoneri took the lead: it was a great bit of play by Brambilla as he played the ball to Tsadjout before getting on the end of the latter's cross and firing home on the volley with his left foot. After the break, Torino began on the front foot and things got much harder for AC Milan in the 55th minute, when Negri was sent off after picking up two bookings. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri did come close through Bellanova in the 62nd minute, but he couldn’t quite find the back of the net. After 68 minutes, substitute Belkheir converted Isacco’s cross to level the match. Despite this setback, the Rossoneri stuck to their task well and secured an excellent point. 1-1 was the final score.
