A standing ovation for Rafa. With a brace, Rafael Leão led his team to victory against Lecce, a game where the Rossoneri couldn't slip up. The Portuguese's two goals gave AC Milan a 2-0 win at San Siro, and combined with an all-round excellent performance has earned him the man of the match award.
Rafa was also a key figure in the Rossoneri's last outing, where his assist for Giroud sent them through to the Champions League semi-finals. And, this time around in Serie A, he showed his class once again with even more purpose, further highlighting the golden period he is currently experiencing.
While not exactly being a speciality of his, he scored his second-ever headed goal for the Rossoneri in the first half, while his second was classic Rafa: a lethal left-footed strike after accelerating away with a quarter of an hour to play. But it wasn't only his goals, because the number 17 also made the most number of crosses (2), successful dribbles (3) and lay-offs (2).
With his two goals against Lecce on matchday 31, the 1999-born forward set a personal goalscoring record in a single Serie A season after reaching 12 for the campaign. Thanks to the Rossoneri supporters on the AC Milan Official App, Leão came in ahead of Rade Krunić and Theo Hernández in the vote. Keep it up, Rafa!
