Coming back from a difficult moment in the hardest game. The Rossoneri find themselves at a crossroads ahead of the game against PSG, and with the aim of shaking off the less-than-positive results in the last weeks. AC Milan has to win against Luis Enrique’s PSG to keep their European dream alive and qualify for the round of 16, as well as to regain some trust and enthusiasm.
LATEST FROM MILANELLO
The training session at Milanello on the eve of the game saw Christian Pulisic, Samuel Chukwueze and Theo Hernández back with the group. All three were missing from the game against Udinese whilst Ruben Loftus-Cheek was back in the side after over a month out. These four will all be available for Pioli against PSG whilst Simon Kjær will still be out injured with his teammates Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrini. The Coach could be back to starting a 4-3-3 formation with these 4 players in the group but the final details will only be clear a few hours ahead of the match.
Pioli spoke on the eve of the game: "I'm coaching a responsible and attentive team that have the chance to play a good game. This has to change our Champions League campaign, we can't hope for other results to go our way, we have to go and win points ourselves. Our fans will do everything to support the squad and we can’t let them down."
LATEST FROM PSG
Since the defeat to Newcastle on 4 October, PSG have completely changed their pace, winning all of their last 5 games in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League and cruising at an average of 3 goals per game. The Parisians are doing well and will regain Danilo Pereira for the match at San Siro. Still out are Kimpembe, Sergio Rico, Nuno Mendes and Asensio. The biggest threat, as usual, will be Kylian Mbappé, his goal in the reverse match counts towards his tally of 12 goals in 13 appearances this season. However, the range of attacking options that PSG could deploy is significant and will require maximum focus from the Rossoneri.
Luis Enrique spoke in a press conference at San Siro: "We shouldn't be thinking about the first leg, it will be a different game. Our idea is very clear and we won't change it, whether at home or away: we want to keep the ball and find a clear result. AC Milan is a difficult opponent, strong, with an entire stadium behind them."
