PIOLI, TOMORI AND DÍAZ SPECIAL GUESTS AT EXPO 2020 DUBAI

The Coach and the players took part in a special training session with the AC Milan Academy at Expo 2020 Dubai and in a Q&A at the Festival Garden, which saw the participation of over 1500 Rossoneri fans

Yesterday evening, AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli and players Fikayo Tomori and Brahim Diaz visited the Expo 2020 Dubai site, where they took part in a number of initiatives dedicated to the numerous Rossoneri fans in attendance.

The first stop of the Expo tour was the Sports, Fitness and Wellbeing Hub, where the Coach and the players met 15 children for a special training session organised by the local AC Milan Academy, which is present at Expo 2020 Dubai and has so far involved over 600 children between six and 14 years old. Technical Director Paolo Maldini also made an appearance and posed for a picture with the kids from the Academy.

At the end of the session, the delegation then moved to the Festival Garden, where 1500 fans, including numerous Fan Club members from the UAE, Oman and Bahrain, attended a special Q&A session, during which Coach Pioli and the players talked about the excitement of being in an international event such as Expo 2020 Dubai and answered questions about the world of AC Milan.

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli had the following to say: “The enthusiasm of the AC Milan Academy children was fantastic, and it was a privilege to join this special training session. It is important to support the younger generations, and the work that AC Milan is doing here in Dubai and also in other parts of the globe is great.”

This is AC Milan’s third visit to Dubai in less than six months, which underlines the commitment of the Club to the whole Middle Eastern region and the United Arab Emirates in particular. According to Nielsen, football remains the most popular sport in the country, where AC Milan has the support of over 2.5 million passionate fans.

The Club and Expo 2020 Dubai are on a journey started last September with the aim of amplifying the messages of innovation and sustainability – key messages of the event – and inspiring positive change for future generations through the core values of sport and football in particular. It is a virtuous partnership with the first Expo hosted by a country in the MEASA region (Middle East, Africa and South Asia) which, to date, has been visited by over 20 million people, reaching over 174 million people virtually, in a site covering an area as large as 613 football pitches and hosting almost 200 events a day.
