OP-ED: A WARM SUMMER'S DAY

Maurizio harks back to his summer trip following the AC Milan training camp in 1981

In the summer of ‘81, I headed to Asiago in the north-east to follow AC Milan’s training camp. It was hot and the hairpin turns on the way to the plateau seemed unending, but we persevered to see our beloved Milan, the players and perhaps get a couple of autographs and photos. At 5 o’clock, everyone was finally at the stadium and I could take my pictures. My mate Gianni even managed to get some autographs, which he still has.

It was such a wonderful summer’s day, my Rossonero heart beat wildly, my idols were within reach. Baresi, Collovati, Jordan, Gigi Radice, Novellino, Moro. An unforgettable experience.

What would a summer adventure, I'm sure we all agree that an entire summer without football and especially without ou beloved AC Milan is tough to bear.
