QATAR 2022: A DRAW FOR DEST'S USA

Sergiño started and was on the pitch for 74 minutes in the United States' 1-1 draw against Wales

Sergiño Dest is the first Rossoneri player to take to the pitch in the 2022 World Cup: at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, the United States drew 1-1 against Wales. George's son Timothy Weah's first-half goal was answered in the final minutes by Bale, from a penalty kick, in the second match of the day in Group B, following England's 6-2 success over Iran.

The Rossoneri full-back, who became the third youngest US defender to play in a World Cup match (after Beasley in 2022 and Czerkiewicz in 1934), started and performed well for 74 minutes on the right wing. Until his substitution, Sergiño (booked in the first half) was the player to have played the most passes (83) in the match. By contrast, Fodé Ballo-Touré was not used in Senegal 0-2 Netherlands.
