The Rossoneri’s first match in May will be away from home. Genoa v AC Milan, which will bring matchday 35 in Serie A to an end, is an important game as the Rossoneri look to build on their win in Venice and close the gap on the European places. Ahead of the clash, Coach Conceição held a press conference at Milanello, with his comments being broadcast live on the AC Milan Official App and Milan TV. This is what he had to say:
GENOA v AC MILAN
"We prepare one match at a time, always aiming to improve as a team. Right now, we’re fully focused on Genoa. After this game, we’ll turn our attentions to our two matches against Bologna."
THE TEAM
"We’re still searching for consistency and especially balance within matches. In attack, we've always been able to create a lot, but we’ve often lacked solidity defensively. I count on all the players - I have confidence in the team. My management of the side goes beyond the starting eleven: it's also about making the right changes that can influence the match. We feel responsibility every day. We know we haven't done well in the league, and we're disappointed."
INDIVIDUALS
"Jović is doing better and has taken part in a few sessions with the group. We won't have Abraham available due to a physical issue, and Bondo and Sottil will also be out. Giménez is important to us, just like our other forwards - I make my choices based on the situation. Hernández and Leão possess the quality of champions, and, like all players, their form can vary. Right now, they're showing how strong they are again. Walker is doing well - he's a reliable player who can play as part of a three-man backline and out wide in midfield. Jiménez is talented but needs to improve his focus and consistency. Loftus-Cheek is making strides forward - he's a box-to-box player and strong both physically and on a technical level. He's another player we're counting on in this final stretch of the season."
