JUVE WIN BY A DISTANCE, ROSSONERE DEFEATED: 5-2

Adami and Longo give the Rossonere hope, but in the end Juve take the three points

AC Milan tried their best, but Juve were able to extend their perfect run. The league leaders, already with a maximum points tally from the first 11 matchdays, won 5-2 in Vivon thanks to a brace from Stašková and goals from Bonansea, Boattin and Hurtig. The Rossonere played well, holding their own in a good performance, only coming undone in the final minutes of the match but coming out with their heads held high from a very difficult fixture. They deserved more and can feel aggrieved for Juve's comeback after taking the lead with Adami, for gifting their opponents the goal that first gave them the advantage, for some errors from Giuliani, for a questionable penalty conceded by Giacinti, for the Bianconere's second equaliser through Longo and for Jonušaitė's injury.

A very heavy defeat. A huge shame and a match marked with regret, once again the epilogue of this match favours the defending champions. Ganz's side must, however, start off again from the impressive character they showed at the home of the Women's Serie A champions, but also recognising the need to reduce the number of errors they have been making. An unfortunate end to the first half of the season and to 2021, a double defeat (with the Derby as well) which they must now put behind them and look ahead to the second half of the season (which will begin in mid-January). Looking at the table, we sit in fourth place tied with Inter on 22 points, three points behind Roma and Sassuolo, i.e. from the Champions League qualifying spots. So far there have been a few too many obstacles in the way, but it is all still to play for. Now it's time to rest and get back to full strength after the Christmas break.

MATCH REPORT
AC Milan took the lead straight away, after a fantastic start: Adami, in the second minute controls the flick on by Salvai after a low Bergamaschi cross and places it in the corner. Juve took a second to recover, in the fourth minute Bonansea shot high and then the equaliser came in the seventh: Girelli's freekick from the edge of the box deflected off the wall, Giuliani managed to parry it away but Stašková was there for an easy tap in. The opening drama then gave way to a much less attacking phase of the game. In the 16th minute, Bergamaschi's shot was blocked by Peyraud-Magnin; then 21 minutes in, Pedersen's shot went wide. A mistake by Giuliani in the 36th minute, however, paved the way for the Bianconere's second: Bonansea closed her down at the back and stole the ball from her before slotting it into a wide-open goal. There was an immediate reaction as in the 40th minute, Thomas was brought down in the box and earned a penalty kick: but the keeper got the better of Giacinti, who failed to convert from the penalty spot. Half time.

The second half began quite slowly with far fewer chances coming for either side: in the 50th minute, Boattin came close, then a minute later stopped Giacinti before making another save off Adami from a corner. The Diavola did not give up and kept going hard. Longo, who had been on the pitch since the 63rd minute, scored in the 69th thanks to a magical move: receiving the ball from Jane's throw-in, she took a right footed shot from the edge of the box that beat the Bianconere goalkeeper. Level again, but this did not last long because, in the 74th minute, the Bianconere went ahead once more: another penalty, this time for a handball from Árnadóttir, Boattin slotted it past Giuliani. In the final period of the game, unfortunately, the deficit increased: in the 79th minute, Bergamaschi made a huge block off Stašková, but on then in the 81st minute, the Czech player managed to find her second and Juve's fourth, taking advantage of Giuliani's error; Hurtig also scored in stoppage time with a low strike. Full time.
