After a positive start to the league season, AC Milan Primavera passed their Coppa Italia test with flying colours. At Vismara, in the first official home game of the season, the Rossoneri beat Brescia 3-1. And so that is the first round out of the way, thanks to goals from Mionić from the spot (14'), Signorile (19') and Di Gesù (82'). Coach Giunti's side were much changed from the away match against Cagliari. It should give the team plenty of confidence going forward, as they know they can count on every member of the squad. It's the second success in a row for the Rossoneri, who are now preparing for a big game at the Vismara against Atalanta, who were crowned champions last season. Their journey in the Primavera TIM Cup will continue on 30 September, when AC Milan play against Monza. The winner will then face Fiorentina in the Round of 16 on 16 December.
MATCH REPORT
The Rossoneri had the result wrapped up within the first 20 minutes. In the 14th minute, Mionić was brought down in the penalty area and AC Milan were awarded a penalty: the same player stepped up to take it and tucked it away into the bottom corner to the keeper's right. Five minutes later, the Rossoneri equalised, with Signorile finding the net after a neat give and go with Tonin. The Rossoneri then took their foot off the gas and looked to protect the result. Coach Giunti made a number of changes of half-time, and one of the substitutes, El Hilali, came close to making it three for AC Milan, but his shot was just wide. Brescia managed to get a goal back in the 80th minute, but minutes later, a goal from Di Gesù restored the Rossoneri's two-goal lead, scoring in his second consecutive match after opening his account for the season with the winner against Cagliari. Following a cross from Capone, he nodded home to seal a 3-1 win for the Rossoneri.
