TONIN & OLZER, AC MILAN OVERCOME SPAL

The Rossoneri win at Vismara to move to 9 points in the table

It was a sweet return to Vismara for AC Milan Primavera, who beat SPAL 2-0 to record their third win of the season. The result doesn't quite reflect the Rossoneri's absolute domination throughout the match against a side that, until today, were unbeaten in the league. Coach Giunti's boys confirmed the improvement shown in their most recent games, especially in terms of their inventiveness and chances created.

The goals were scored by Riccardo Tonin, who celebrated his birthday with his first-ever goal in Primavera 1, and Giacomo Olzer in injury time. The rest of the lads were brilliant too and put in a great team performance, all of them going above and beyond. Marco Nasti - born in 2003 - made his debut for the Primavera. With this win, AC Milan move to nine points in the table, which will surely boost their confidence ahead of Wednesday's Coppa Italia game against Fiorentina. On Saturday, the boys are back in action in the league, again at Vismara, against Sassuolo.

REPORT
Coach Giunti made two changes to the side that started against Torino on Wednesday; Di Gesù started in midfield and Tonin up top. The Rossoneri looked good from the outset and, after a few minutes, Olzer forced a great save from Galeotti. That was the opening salvo of what would become 45 minutes of Rossoneri domination. However, AC Milan were left frustrated by a raft of missed chances: Stanga's effort fizzed just past the post (27') and Tonin left the keeper scrambling but hit the post after a neat one-two with Di Gesù.

In the 47th minute, Roback fired just wide and, in the 54th minute, Olzer was unsuccessful from a free-kick. Jungdal was called into action, denying Cuellar in the 61st minute. The Rossoneri's persistence paid off in the 69th minute; Tonin opened the scoring with a delightful finish to deceive the guests' goalkeeper. AC Milan didn't stop pushing after they took the lead and continued to look for the second. SPAL did go close late on through Attys, but the Rossoneri put the result beyond all doubt in injury time through Olzer, whose left-footed effort from range snuck in at the near post.
