A COMMANDING HOME WIN FOR THE PRIMAVERA

The Rossoneri score four second-half goals to beat Bologna 4-1 at the PUMA House of Football

Another excellent Primavera performance. Following their away victory over Monza, the team have now recorded their first home win. At the PUMA House of Football, the Rossoneri defeated Bologna 4-1 on matchday two in the Primavera 1 division. After undeservedly going into the break behind, AC Milan dominated a second half where Simić, Sia and Perrucci (x2) all found the net. Coach Abate’s side displayed intensity and clear ideas, helping them to come away with all three points.

There were many standout performances on the pitch today, with the team maintaining their composure and sticking to their playing principles even after falling behind. Diego Sia scored AC Milan’s second and now has three goals so far this campaign, while Vincenzo Perrucci made the most of the chances that came his way after coming off the bench midway through the second half. Now, it’s time for the international break, during which the Rossoneri can recuperate ahead of their next fixture away to Sassuolo on 16 September.

MATCH REPORT
AC Milan had the first chance of the game: in the sixth minute, Bonomi cut inside and let fly with a curling right-footed effort, only for it to finish narrowly wide. The visitors took the lead following their first real foray forward as Menegazzo headed home a corner (14’). After two saves from Bagnolini to deny Zeroli (20’ and 25’), Menegazzo almost struck on the counter for the Rossoblù, but Bartoccioni did well to thwart him. In the 37th minute, there was a chance for Cuenca, who, after being found by Bonomi, beat his man before a last-ditch intervention by the Bologna defence prevented his left-footed strike from entering the net. The Rossoneri found themselves behind at the break.

AC Milan drew level immediately after the restart: Simić rose highest to meet a corner and make it 1-1 (47’). Having found an equaliser, AC Milan controlled possession and forced Bologna back. Then, with 67 minutes on the clock, Abate’s side found the gap they were looking for: Zeroli picked out Sia, who controlled the ball and fired past Bagnolini with his right foot. Eleven minutes later (78’), the Rossoneri killed off the game through Perrucci, who nodded a precise Bonomi cross into the net. There was still time to add a fourth: after winning the ball back in midfield and driving forward, Simić set up Perrucci to score his second of the day. It finished 4-1 to us.
