PRIMAVERA, COMEBACK DRAW: 1-1 AGAINST TORINO

The Rossoneri's first half of the season ends in a draw, with Bonomi scoring in the final minutes

The first home match of 2024 for the Primavera ended in a draw: at the PUMA House of Football, it's 1-1 between AC Milan and Torino, a top clash - second against third – on Matchday 17, the last of the first half of the season. 90 minutes of intense and hard-fought minutes decided by two goals scored in the second half, with Bonomi, in the final moments, equalizing the guest's advantage scored by Ciammaglichella. There were numerous opportunities for both teams, who spared no effort on the field, confirming the excellent impressions shown in this initial part of the season. A fair result, rewarding the determination of Mister Abate's lads, closely followed in the stands by Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Despite several absences, the Rossoneri continued their success after the away game against Frosinone, redeeming themselves from the elimination in the Coppa Italia and temporarily moving up to the second position in the table, trailing by three points from the top. The only downside of the afternoon was the physical problems, at the beginning of the second half, for Cuenca and Stalmach, which will be reassessed in the coming days. On a positive note, Marco Pellegrino performed well, playing for 81 minutes as part of his recovery from the injury suffered in Napoli v AC Milan. The intense month for Abate's team will continue next weekend, with AC Milan facing Atalanta on their turf (scheduled for 20 January at 13:00 CET) in another high-stakes encounter.

MATCH REPORT
Right from the start, there were great opportunities for both teams: in the 2nd minute, Sia narrowly missed a chance initiated by Cuenca and Bakoune, while in the 5th minute, Raveyre was responsive to Gabellini's turn in the box. After this intense start, AC Milan took control, with Cuenca showing great inspiration. In the 17th minute, the Paraguayan tried from outside the box with a left-footed shot that grazed the crossbar, and in the 26th minute, his right-footed shot - assisted by Victor - brushed the post almost beating the goalkeeper. The Rossoneri persisted, remaining dangerous, in the 38th minute, a curling right-footed shot from Bonomi came close to the intersection of the posts. The last two chances of the first half belonged to Torino: in the 39th minute, Dalla Vecchia hit the post, and in the 45th minute, Dell'Aquila's free-kick found a great response from Raveyre in goal.

The second half started with a chance for Camarda, who narrowly missed connecting with the ball after Sia's through ball. There was little play in the subsequent minutes due to an accidental clash in midfield between Cuenca and Silva, with the Rossoneri’s number 10 forced to be substituted. After the injury for Stalmach, Torino took the lead in the 67th minute with Ciammaglichella, quick to slot the ball into the net after the post was hit in a twist by Della Vecchia. Torino almost doubled their lead - again with Ciammaglichella, but Raveyre saved - but remained with 10 men in the 75th minute due to Silva's foul on Sia. AC Milan gathered courage and pushed forward, with Liberali and Simmelhack also coming on. The deserved equalizer for the Rossoneri arrived in the 84th minute: a beautiful cross from Nsiala for Bonomi, who coordinated himself and beat Abati with a right-footed volley. The Rossoneri believed in a second goal and came close with long-range shots from Parmiggiani in the 86th minute and Liberali in the 90th minute. Still, after 5 minutes of added time, it ended 1-1 at the PUMA House of Football.
