Nine games are probably enough to suggest that this Primavera side is the real deal. Since 26 August, the day of the season's opener against Monza, to 8 October, the record books say: eight wins, one draw and no defeats; 29 goals scored - an average of three per game - only five conceded, and seven out of eight games won by a difference of two or more goals.
Numbers are not everything, although on this occasion they paint a true picture of their start. In a long and gruelling season, nine games isn't completely illustrative of a full year, but in these first two months the squad has clearly shown lots of many positive signs, that gives hope for the following months ahead.
Abate's side play good football and their quality is backed by excellent fitness levels, that allows them to express their style at a high intensity for the whole 90 minutes. The squad is deep, and the subs have shown to be capable of stepping up to the plate when called upon, as seen by the four goals scored so far this season from players coming off the bench. There are individuals that stand out, but it is the collective group that works so well.
The growth within the group, both technically and character-wise, was already evident last season, which saw patient progress take them to their current standards. But it has yet to reach its full potential, with lots of room for improvement still. At the international break, though, the Rossoneri are top of both the league and Youth League: long may it continue!
