ROSSONERI YOUTH SIDES AIMING TO TRIUMPH

A look at the fixtures awaiting the AC Milan teams looking to become Italian champions in their respective age groups

Like every year, June is the month when everything is decided across the youth divisions. Various Rossoneri youth sides are ready to give it their all in their respective national finals, from the men's U17, U16 and U15 teams through to the women's U17 and U15 sides. Five teams who are aiming to become Italian champions in their age groups.

The Under-17 division is currently on hold due to the European Under-17 Championship, where Italy will face Portugal in the final on Wednesday 5 June. Awaiting Coach Renna's Rossoneri is a quarter-final showdown against Roma: the first leg will take place on Sunday 9 June, after which the return fixture (at the PUMA House of Football) will be played four days later.

The U16s will also have to wait until 9 June to take to the pitch: this coming Sunday, they'll play the first leg of their quarter-final tie with Empoli in Milan, with the second leg in Tuscany scheduled for 12 June. Should they progress, the Rossoneri would face Sampdoria over two legs in the semi-finals, after which a final against either Inter or Atalanta would await. Following their 3-2 second-leg victory over Hellas Verona, Coach Baldo's U15s have already progressed to the final four. Next up for the Rossoneri is a semi-final showdown against Genoa. On the other side of the bracket, Roma and Inter are set to meet.

Led by Coach Treccani, the women's U17s have already been involved in quarter-final first-leg action. Although they fell to defeat to Juventus (4-3), a comeback is still very possible on Sunday 9 June. In the other last-eight ties, Roma, Inter and Arezzo have an advantage going into their respective second legs. Having strongly progressed through the interregional phase, the women's U15s will face Roma in the quarter-finals: the first leg will take place in Milan this coming weekend, while the return game will be played in Rome seven days later.

All five finals will take place in the Marche region and be shown on DAZN (in Italy) and VivoAzzurroTV. This is the schedule:

  • Friday 21 June, U17 final in Ascoli Piceno (semi-finals on Wednesday 19 June)
  • Saturday 22 June, U16 final in San Benedetto del Tronto
  • Tuesday 25 June, U15 final in Ascoli Piceno
  • Thursday 27 June, women's U15 final in Tolentino (semi-finals on Tuesday 25 June)
  • Sunday 30 June, women's U17 final in Fermo (semi-finals on Friday 28 June)
