With the recent and important 3-1 away win in Verona against Chievo, Milan Futuro have just reclaimed second place in Group B of the 2025/26 Serie D, bouncing back immediately and giving fresh momentum to a league campaign, now in its back half. It was a fine victory, built on an excellent performance especially in the opening stages. Three goals in the space of half an hour: first at the end of a well-worked team move involving Traorè, then a long-range effort from Sala, and finally a penalty converted once again by Traorè.
Chaka Traorè was undoubtedly the brightest note of the Rossoneri’s Sunday. On the pitch from the first minute after his substitute appearance against Pavia, and more generally following his return from the issue that had sidelined him from December onwards, Traorè was finally back with a smile on his face. He had already been forced to spend time out in September and the whole of October. A goal as medicine, and a first brace in a long time, bringing renewed energy for the rest of the season. So far, consistency has never been this strong: ten wins, four draws and six defeats.
Performances have fluctuated, paradoxically rising significantly in the big matches and dropping in seemingly more straightforward fixtures. Milan Futuro have beaten league leaders Folgore Caratese away from home (3–2), overcome ChievoVerona twice (3–2 and 3–1), and drawn with Brusaporto, teams with whom they now share second place on 34 points. At the same time, however, they have slipped up against less demanding opponents. The best attack in the league, but a defensive unit still to be consolidated.
The squad is young and full of talent, with a project that continues to evolve. The winter transfer window has been lively, from the arrivals of Babaj and Sardo, both making their debuts in the win at the Stadio Olivieri, to Cappelletti’s contract renewal. The aim is to help the players improve without undue pressure, giving them space to grow and even to make mistakes. Mister Oddo reiterates it in every interview: work and patience, desire and attention. Next weekend Casatese Merate will visit Solbiate Arno, a tricky test.
