Last night, seven Rossoneri players took to the pitch for their respective national teams. In the 0-0 draw between Bosnia and the Netherlands, Rade Krunić started the game before being subbed off in the 75th minute. Roberto Martinez chose not to bring on Alexis Saelemaekers as Belgium fell to a 2-1 defeat to England, while Simon Kjær returned to his place in the centre of the Danish defence: the Rossoneri number 24 and captain of the Danish national team led his team to a convincing 3-0 win against Iceland.
It was an evening to remember for our new signing Jens Petter Hauge (who celebrates his birthday today), who made his debut in the 85th minute during the match between Norway and Romania, with the Norwegians running out 4-0 winners. Someone who didn’t enjoy the game so much was another Rossoneri man, namely Ciprian Tătăruşanu, who was in goal for Romania. It was ordinary service resumed for Donnarumma, however: Poland and Italy played out a 0-0 draw, with the Italian keeper never having to make any huge saves and managing to keep a clean sheet. Hakan Çalhanoğlu was also involved in a stalemate for Turkey: he was on the pitch for 92 minutes in his country’s 1-1 draw against Russia.
