WINS FOR ITALY, SWEDEN, AND DENMARK

An Ibra assist, a clean sheet for both Donnarumma and Kjær. Success too for Dalot with the U21s

Four wins from six matches make it a good Thursday night for the Rossoneri on international duty.

It’s only right that we start with Zlatan Ibrahimović: he was the protagonist in a homecoming for the Swedish national team, as he returned to wear the yellow and blue jersey almost five years after his last appearance. On the opening day (Group B) of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, Ibra provided the assist for Claesson's goal to make it 1-0 against Georgia. Playing a total of 84 minutes in Solna, his set up the goal in the 35th minute with a great touch in the air before passing it to his teammate behind his back.

Also, in the same competition, Donnarumma and Kjær performed very well, both of whom remained on the pitch from the beginning to the end of their respective matches. There were identical results for Italy (Group C) and Denmark (Group F): in the 2-0 against Northern Ireland at the Tardini in Parma, Gigio kept a clean sheet thanks to some decisive saves in the second half; in the 2-0 v Israel at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, Simon led the team as captain.

Elsewhere, Dalot's Portugal U21 side recorded a positive start to their European Championship campaign: in the opening match of the group (Group D), Diogo played as a left-back, helping to beat Croatia 1-0 in Koper. Finally, Ismaël Bennacer and Pierre Kalulu did not take part in Zambia 3-3 Algeria (Africa Cup of Nations qualification) and France 0-1 Denmark (European U21).
