ALLEGRI: "THERE'S STILL LOTS TO DO"

The Coach's thoughts from Milanello ahead of Bologna v AC Milan

Tuesday. Nine days after the previous match. Away from home once again. After Roma, Bologna await AC Milan on Serie A matchday 23, scheduled for February 3 at 20:45 CET. At Milanello it is the eve of the game, marked by Coach Allegri's press conference. The Rossoneri coach's words were broadcast on the AC Milan Official App and on Milan TV.

MAIGNAN'S RENEWAL
"I'm really happy, because he's one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. He himself is happy to continue here. I didn't convince him, the credit should go to the club because they decide the contracts. I was quite confident, when he stayed here in the Summer, because you could see that he wanted to stay at Milan".

INJURY SITUATION
"Saelemaekers won't feature, his adductor is giving him some problems. He was available in Rome but he's felt it flair up again. We'll assess Pulisic today, we'll see if he'll come with us. Leão is handling his situation well and will be available, the others can play".

TOWARDS BOLOGNA
"We worked for three days, had one day of rest and then another three days of work, we'll see if that was the right decision. We're facing a team that got a great win in the Europa League but have only won once in their last ten games in the league. They're not under pressure in terms of the standings but will want to show that the recent negative results have been a coincidence. We'll need to play seriously against an aggressive and intense team".

MARGINS FOR IMPROVEMENT
"There are moments during the games that we can improve on, for example, we risked conceding to Roma after 15 seconds of play. We struggled there due to both their strengths and our own mistakes, as we suffered from their aggressiveness in regaining possession. We need to improve in that area and in others, while keeping our final objective firmly in mind".

INDIVIDUALS
"Nkunku has the qualities he needs to grow: there are those who have an immediate impact and those who need a bit more time. He's already scored a few goals and we're happy with how he's doing, but he can always improve. Athekame has developed a lot and I have a lot of confidence in his abilities: him or Loftus-Cheek will play on the right".

MODRIĆ'S FUTURE
"It will be up to him whether he wants to continue or not".

MARKET AND SCHEDULE
"Today is the last day, thankfully. The club is taking care of the transfer market; so far Füllkrug has arrived and we’re happy with him. We’ve been lucky to have these matches spaced out, because it gives us time to fully recover players who aren’t in the best condition. We’re also getting closer to Gimenez’s return, which will be important in the final part of the season. The schedules are what they are, we play when we’re told to. We knew about the Olympic issue: we’ll use these days as an opportunity to recover players. We’re trying to look at the positive side, not the negative one. What we’ve done so far stays, what comes in the future has to be earned. In Bologna we’ll try to take a small step forward, and in the following ten days we’ll try to get back those who are dealing with some minor issues right now".
