ROSSONERE DOMINANCE: 3-0 AGAINST TERNANA

Van Dooren bagged a brace before Kyvåg scored to seal the Rossonere's first win of 2026

An important, resounding win for the Rossonere, who secured their first victory of 2026, beating Ternana 3-0. After two draws against Parma and Fiorentina (in the Coppa Italia), this marks the first win of the year, sealed by Van Dooren’s brace and Kyvåg’s late goal. Securing three points for the first time since the away trip to Naples, Bakker’s side have now totalled 17 points in the league, putting them just one point behind the Champions League positions for next season. Despite several absentees – most recently Piga and Renzotti – the Rossonere delivered a composed and solid performance.

Playing through the middle of the attack, Van Dooren slotted home Kyvåg’s assist in the first half and Park’s in the second, taking her tally to five league goals for the season – all of them, curiously, scored at home. Kyvåg then put the result beyond doubt with her first-ever goal in Serie A. Late on, Donolato and Strauss made their senior debuts, while Appiah also got minutes on the pitch. All in all, it was a thoroughly positive Sunday, giving the team confidence ahead of their Coppa Italia quarter-final second leg against Fiorentina, scheduled for 18:00 CET on Thursday at the Viola Park, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

MATCH REPORT
The first chance of the match fell to Pacioni, who was denied by Giuliani rushing off her line. Then, in the space of a few minutes, the Rossonere struck the woodwork twice: first Van Dooren, from the centre of the box, smashed a powerful, well-placed shot against the post with the goalkeeper beaten; then Cernoia, going from distance with her left foot, was denied by the crossbar. Ternana tried to keep the contest at a very high physical intensity, but AC Milan’s quality emerged as the game went on. After 34 minutes Kyvåg flew down the left wing and delivered a low left-footed cross that Van Dooren met with a stretching finish to make it 1–0. A deserved lead, and an advantage they took into the break.

The second half opened with a long, fragmented spell of probing play from both sides. Then AC Milan stepped up the pressure once more, creating chances in quick succession: Mascarello fired over from the edge of the area in the 66th minute, Koivisto headed wide from close range two minutes later, and Van Dooren – again set up by Kyvåg – was unable to direct her acrobatic volley on target. The second goal felt inevitable and duly arrived after 80 minutes, once again through the Dutch striker, who tapped home Park’s cross to make it 2–0. Shortly afterwards it became 3–0, as Kyvåg cut inside onto her right foot and struck powerfully towards the far post. A controlled end to the game sealed an important victory.
