STOPPAGE-TIME EQUALISER DENIES PRIMAVERA: 3-3 AGAINST FIORENTINA

The visitors come from behind three times on matchday 20

It was a frustrating day for AC Milan Primavera, who came close to what would have been a well-deserved win on matchday 20 of the Primavera 1 division. At the Sportitalia Village in Carate Brianza, the Rossoneri played out a 3-3 draw against Fiorentina, who came back three times and secured a point thanks to a header from Conti in the second minute of stoppage time. It was an action-packed encounter that featured five other goals, with Angelicchio, Vladimirov and Castiello getting on the scoresheet for Giovanni Renna's men. Notably, Castiello also hit the post in the closing stages.

In the end, it finished all square, with the more experienced visitors (all born in 2006 and 2007, compared to an AC Milan side starting six players born in 2008 and one in 2009) showing more of a clinical edge in front of goal. The late disappointment, however, does not overshadow an excellent performance from our boys, who showcased their quality against an excellent side, currently top of the table. Special mention goes to two of the day's scorers, Angelicchio and Vladimirov, who both netted their first goals for the Primavera. Our U20s' next match will be a midweek encounter away to Frosinone at 12:00 CET on Tuesday 20 January.

MATCH REPORT
The match began with plenty of intensity, but the first chance didn't arrive until the 15th minute, when Scotti weaved down the left, cut inside and fired a curling effort just past the far post. We kept pushing, with Lontani creating an opportunity for himself but failing to find the target from an excellent position (19'). In the 25th minute, Vladimirov rosed to meet a free-kick but headed inches wide. Renna's side were finally rewarded in the 31st minute, when Angelicchio scored his first Primavera goal, calmly finishing off a spell of sustained pressure. Fiorentina tried to respond before half-time, with both Koné and Trapani threatening, but neither tested Longoni.

The second half began with a setback for AC Milan: Puzzoli converted a penalty after a foul by Cissè to level the match. Longoni punched away a long-range effort from Jallow (49'), but the Rossoneri responded well in a tricky moment, retaking the lead in the 53th minute as Vladimirov flicked Lontani's free-kick into the net. The game quickly grew intense, with neither side holding back in the tackles. Tartaglia's tame effort was comfortably saved by Leonardelli (61'), while Longoni got down low to keep out a header from Jallow (68'). The finale was electric. The newly introduced Castiello saw a shot crash off the post (77'), while Vladimirov then cleared a goal-bound effort from Maiorana off the line (84'). Jallow levelled in the 86th minute, only for Castiello to put AC Milan back in front 60 seconds later. However, the visitors had the final say, as Conti headed in a corner in the second minute of stoppage time to earn a 3-3 draw.
