SUCCESS FOR THE PRIMAVERA: 2-0 OVER FROSINONE

Lontani and Castiello seal a tough win away in the second half

Renna’s Primavera side secured three valuable points in Ferentino, as AC Milan claimed victory away at the Cittadella dello Sport with a decisive brace in the second half. After 70 minutes defined more by intensity and physicality than pure quality, late goals from Lontani and Castiello sealed a 2-0 victory. The result rewarded the young team - with seven 2008-born Rossoneri starting the match - that created more chances overall and, above all, waited patiently for the right moment to strike, against an opponent and on a pitch that made refined play particularly difficult.

This second win of the year lifts AC Milan to 21 points in the Primavera 1 2025/26 table, injecting fresh momentum into their Playoff push and restoring a positive balance to the Rossoneri’s start to 2026, which had previously yielded one win, one draw and one defeat. Next up, AC Milan will host the derby against Inter: a fixture that is always full of emotion, but also a fresh opportunity to close the gap to the top of the table.

MATCH REPORT
The first real chance arrived in the 13th minute when Scotti broke down the right, but Mancioppi failed to capitalise on his teammate’s cross. Around the half-hour mark, Obleac went close for the hosts with a header from a corner, but it drifted just wide. The away goalkeeper Rodolfo proved decisive, managing to keep the score level before the break: first he gathered Scotti’s angled effort, then produced an excellent save to deny Lontani from the edge of the box.

The second half offered more intensity than quality until the turning point midway through. Lontani took on Obleac one-on-one, created some space and fired a shot past Rodolfo to make it 0-1. Substitutes then quickly made their mark: Castiello and Ossola set up Lontani for a potential brace, but he played it on to Castiello who made it 0-2, sealing the win. The hosts tried to push back through Lochmatov and Zorzetto, but without success. Despite being reduced to ten men late on, the Rossoneri managed to see out the match without further danger.
