Coming from the youth sector of Valdemarsvik, Niels Liedholm gained a regular spot in the Swedish National team thanks to his excellent performance with IK Sleipner and IFK Norrköping. Golden Medal winner at the Olympic Games in London in 1948, the ‘Baron’ joined Milan in the following year to re-establish together with Gren and Nordahl the Gre-No-Li trio that had made the fortunes of the Scandinavian national team. Elegant, clever and precise, he won with Milan four league titles and 2 Latin Cups.
