Dino Sani was brought in during the season to take up the foreigner's slot left vacant by English forward Jimmy Greaves. The experienced midfielder was decisive in claiming the 1961-62 Serie A title. Gifted with a sharp mind and great tactical intelligence, after winning the World Cup in 1958, he led the Rossoneri to the European Champion Club’s Cup title in 1963.
