Angelo Benedicto Sormani began his playing career alongside Pelé, at Brazilian club Santos. He first moved to Italy in 1961 joining Mantova, later moving to Roma and Sampdoria before signing for AC Milan in 1965. A versatile forward, capable of playing anywhere along the frontline, his sublime technique and impressive strength made him the perfect partner for Prati and Rivera. Over the course of his five years with the Rossoneri, he featured 180 times and scored 65 goals. The pinnacle of his trophy-laden years in Milan was arguably the 1969 European Champion Clubs' Cup final against Cruijff's legendary Ajax, a match Sormani and Co. won 4-1. He also won a Serie A title, 2 Coppe Italiane, a European Cup Winners’ Cup and an Intercontinental Cup.
