Cusano Milanino (MI)
Giovanni Trapattoni, given his senior debut at a very young age by Gipo Viani, would go on to become one of the central pillars of Nereo Rocco's legendary AC Milan side. A midfielder who excelled in winning the ball and playing direct passes, he displayed exceptional man-marking skills all over the field, with unforgettable performances against Pelé, Sivori and Suárez. However, his masterpiece performance came in the European Champion Clubs’ Cup final in 1963 when after controlling Bénitez in the first few moments; he overshadowed Eusebio, making the legendary striker disappear from the game. In 14 seasons he won 2 Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia, two European Champion Clubs’ Cups, a European Cup Winners’ Cup and an Intercontinental Cup.
