Following his outstanding debuts with Cesena, Massimo Ambrosini joined AC Milan in summer 1995, at 18 years of age. Sent on loan to Vicenza for a season, the midfielder from Pesaro reached with them the semi-final stage of the European Cup Winners’ Cup and then returned to Milan. Appreciated by all coaches for his capability to never give up, he fully flourished with Ancelotti who exploited his skills in his “Christmas Tree” scheme. After winning everything, he inherited the captain’s armband from Maldini and lifted as captain the 2011 league title and Italian League Super Cup in the same year.
