On the morning of Monday, 25 November, 50 AC Milan kits; including jerseys, sweatshirts and tracksuits were handed out to local youth teams by members of the Italian contingent of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.

The initiative is a follow up to the friendly match played last summer in Kosovo between the Rossoneri and local team Feronikeli. Colonel Daniele Pisani - commander of the 24th Peloritani regiment of Messina - thanked Fondazione Milan for the apparel donated and the assistance provided for the event, a part of the "My life in Your hands" project aimed at teaching young Kosovar athletes the basics of first aid.

Franco Baresi, Brand Ambassador of AC Milan, said: "We're delighted to have visited Kosovo last summer. We were welcomed with great warmth and enthusiasm and got to see the fervent passion of the many local Rossonero fans. It was the first time our Club played a friendly in Kosovo and it was truly touching to see the love with which we are welcomed all over the world. We are proud to assist NATO in this initiative and delighted to know that many youngsters will be playing and enjoying themselves wearing our colours."

The project, which involved twenty sports associations and over two hundred athletes from different ethnic groups is one of the many activities carried out by the Italian contingent of NATO's KFOR mission under General Michele Risi. They operate with 3,500 military personnel from 28 nations to guarantee safety and stability in Kosovo, and support, among other things, local institutions in implementing projects for the benefit of the population.
