Today, an AC Milan delegation consisting of players from the women's First Team, youngsters from the youth academy and Club directors paid a visit to the Memoriale della Shoah and Platform 21 at the Milano Centrale railway station, the place from where persecuted Jews, politicians and military personnel were deported to concentration camps.
A few days after International Holocaust Remembrance Day on 27 January, the Club attended the memorial to commemorate the millions of victims of the Holocaust, to reflect, to remember this tragic time where unfathomable crimes were committed, to reaffirm the values of respect, inclusion and solidarity.
Also in attendance were both Manuela Valletti and Mario Ghezzi, the daughter and son-in-law of former AC Milan player Ferdinando Valletti, who was taken to the Mauthausen concentration camp from Platform 21 in 1944.
On behalf of the Club and its supporters, the Rossoneri delegation presented Ferdinando Valletti's AC Milan shirt to the Memoriale della Shoah as a symbolic gesture to express the Club's solidarity with the Jewish community and all the families of the victims of the Holocaust.
