It was the 1998/99 season, AC Milan were pushing hard to make up lost ground and, as the league neared its end, we were neck-and-neck with Lazio. Then we faced a Sampdoria that was battling to avoid relegation, it was a tense affair, neither side could afford to drop points. In the 94th minute, the score was tied 2-2. The fans were starting to get angry and disappointed but then Maurizio Ganz came up with a “hail mary” shot and somehow put us ahead! San Siro exploded with joy and relief.

Who can forget that match against Sampdoria? A desperately sought after win, the incredible winner in the dying minutes. It was a fantastic precursor to the Scudetto that season.
