Today at the official Casa Milan Store, the beating heart of the Rossoneri's world, dozens of fans were able to meet midfielder Sandro Tonali in person. The midfielder was there to chat, sign jerseys and gadgets and take some memorable photos with the fans.
Among the opportunities provided by the club to take part in the event, fans were able to get involved in the RE:JERSEY recycling project, launched by PUMA to promote production models that ensure greater sustainability through end-to-end recycling methods. At the Casa Milan Store last week, fans were able to return an old item of clothing made of 100% polyester, which will be reused for the production of new garments, in exchange for a space at the event.
Tonali himself, speaking live at the event, expressed his thoughts on the project and, more generally, on the attention that AC Milan devotes to future generations both on and off the pitch: "I think that it is very important for a Club like AC Milan to do this, both for us the players and for the kids who follow us. It is very important now and it also will be important in the future".
For the rossonero player also a comment on the great amount of fans that are always ready to cheer up the team: "We have a deep connection with our fans. After Covid, after the lockdown, with stadiums closed they couldn’t follow us closely but we could always feel their support. We are lucky because we are one thing and we all row towards the same side, and this is fundamental. Today, it will be a great day beacuse we get together again".
Starting last September, the Club has launched a special competition with prizes - still in action today - using its Casa Milan, San Siro and San Babila stores as collection centres where fans can return their used clothing and receive in exchange an activation code for a chance to win Home 2022/23 jerseys, tickets to selected Serie A home matches and access to the Club's Hospitality area.
Recycled pieces, from any brand, will contribute to the creation of new kits, composed of 75% reused products and 25% SEAQUAL® MARINE PLASTIC, through a chemical process that guarantees a lower environmental impact but the same performance as genuine polyester.
All unsuitable items of clothing will instead remain at the disposal of projects promoted by the non-profit organisation Vesti Solidale in support of people and families in situations of severe social hardship. Underwear, socks, shoes and swimwear will not be accepted.
