It was an emotional night at San Siro. A win over Verona to conclude the season, the team and fans saluting one another and, above all, Ibra's goodbye to football and AC Milan. Give our Social Corner a read to see how the players reacted.
Let's start with the captain, Davide Calabria, who paid tribute to Zlatan Ibrahimović: "Thanks for everything that you're given to football, for what you've given to us, it's been an honour."
Sandro Tonali, who was visibly emotional as Zlatan said his goodbyes, also spare a thought for Ibra: "Yesterday, today, forever."
Leão made a big gesture after making it 2-1. He ran towards the bench and embraced the Swede, a moment that almost seemed like a passing of the baton. Among the photos that Rafa posted was a particularly significant one: the Rossoneri badge in hand, a bond strengthened after he renewed his deal until 2028.
Olivier Giroud made a fitting tribute to Zlatan too: "You were my inspiration when I started my career, it's been an honour and a privilege to play by your side."
Ismaël Bennacer missed the game through injury but he wasn't going to miss a chance to spare a word for Zlatan: "Milano will miss you, football will miss you."
